laser cooling

heat is movement of atoms and molecules 

so if molecules in matter are slowed down 

then the matter cools down 

so a thin sheet of matter 

could be affected by lasers 

so that lasers slow down the atoms / molecules 

in the sheet of matter 

then the sheet will cool down 

and the air around the sheet that touches the sheet 

will cool down 

the sheet could be used to cool down gases, fluids and solid matter 

old news in physics, I guess 

but if the technology becomes cheap to mass produce 

and sold on the civilian commercial market 

then it could significantly change the global economy
