so that the gold doesn't vaporize into gold dust 

in the atmosphere of planet earth 

some asteroids have obscene amounts of gold 

so to avoid that asteroid gold 

doesn't collapse the price of gold on planet earth 

and thereby disrupt the economic markets on planet earth 

then the goverments of planet earth 

could impose quotas of how much asteroid gold 

will be legally imported to the surface of planet earth 

while a lot of that gold is bought legally 

by the reserve banks of each country 

to increase the gold reserve of each country 

and a lot of gold is kept 

in space station banks orbiting planet earth 

that functions like offshore tax free havens 

and the remaining gold is sent to the mars colonies 

where no quotas of asteroid gold import exist 

which entice more people to move to mars 

as the population of planet earth grows 

then governments will allow more asteroid gold 

to be imported to the surface of planet earth 

so that the amount of gold per person 

doesn't quickly increase 

which could destabilize the price of gold 

on the markets of planet earth 

it's probably unavoidable that legal asteroid gold 

will be smuggled illegally to the surface of planet earth 

by criminal networks 

and sold to the private markets 

the asteroid belt contains 

between 170 billion and 550 billion metric tons of gold 

while the asteoid ceres contains 

between 100 billion and 160 billion metric tons of gold 

each packet of gold sent from the asteroid belt 

could contain 100 tons of pure gold 

encased in a shield of carbon or ceramics 

to protect it from atmosperic entry
