usa has had unmatched military strength through technology 

for decades 

and usa has had overwhelming economic strength through business 

for decades 

and usa has had overwhelming cultural strength through hollywood 

for decades 

but poverty has been a weakness in usa 

for a long time 

so if poverty was completely eliminated in usa 

with more economic opportunities 

and a generous economic policy 

then that would make it more attractive to live in usa 

so that more foreigners would want to live in usa 

but usa doesn't need more immigrants 

instead usa needs more territories 

and then it would become more attractive 

for foreign territories and countries 

to become part of usa
