naval drone launchers

the disadvantages of aircraft carriers 

is that they are expensive and slow to produce 

and since they are big 

then there are only a few of them 

which could be disatrous if one or two are destroyed or disabled 

if fighter aircraft are replaced with drones 

then no pilots are needed 

and if the ship is fully automated then fewer personnel are needed 

so that more drones would fit inside the ship 

and if drones are able to land vertically 

then flight decks are not needed 

instead it would be a few helipads 

with elevators lowering the drones into the ship 

and replacing them with other drones 

inside the ship the drones would be rearmed, refueled and repaired 

by robots and humanoid robots 

controlled by ai and a few sailors 

and the massive swarms of drones would be fully autonomous 

but optionally controlled remotely by a few sailors 

such a ship launching all it's drones 

would basically be a mechanized sailing hornet's nest 

which would enable a few aircraft carriers 

to be replaced by many naval drone launchers 

which would be cheaper and faster to produce 

since they would be smaller and thereby more of them
