mirroring is a well known subconscious behaviour 

it's even described on wikipedia 

examples of mirroring 

is when children copy the behaviour of the parents 

probably as a way for children to learn from the parents 

and when children copy the behaviours of other children in school 

so that the parents see what type of acquaintances their children make 

which gives the parents an understanding 

of who their children come into contact with 

children are probably also mirroring other adults than their parents 

and probably people on the streets 

and probably people in media and social media 

so children reflect their parents when they are with their parents 

and children reflect to their parents who they previously met in school 

adults sometimes use mirroring too in various situations 

mirroring could be seen as a type of subconscious communication
