africa could sell oil to europe and china 

to get money 

and use that money to buy solar panels from china 

and build solar farms in africa 

and use some of that electricity to power industry in africa 

and sell the rest of that electricity to europe 

to get more money

and use that money to build desalination plants in africa 

and use the energy from the solar farms to power the desalination plants 

and use the freshwater from the desalination plants 

to water the land and grow food crops 

and sell those food crops in africa to feed people 

and sell food crops to europe and china 

to get more money 

and invest that money in infrastructure in africa 

and/or africa could use it's own oil to produce energy 

for desalination plants in africa 

and use that freshwater to grow food crops 

and sell those food crops in africa and to other countries
