laws that matter

the eu could make a law 

that water proof clothes 

need to have a water column of atleast 10'000 mm

in order for the product to be called waterproof 

such a law could save lives 

a human lost in the wilderness could easily freeze to death 

because so called waterproof clothes often get soaking wet from rain 

and then the cold night freezes the human to death 

such a law could encourage big clothing brands 

to focus on producing quality products 

and it would increase the amount of second hand sales of 

waterproof jackets, pants and sports clothes 

because quality would be sought after 

especially at the lower prices of second hand 

if the big brands increased their quality of clothes 

then quality clothes would become less expensive 

because of mass production and competition
