devolution word controversy

I know that according to science there is no devolution 

instead according to science 

all biological change is considered to be evolution 

because evolution is a species changing to survive in an environment 

but from an intelligent species perspective 

if that intelligent species evolves to loose their intelligence 

then that would be considered devolution 

from that intelligent species perspective 

because if an intelligent species devolve to loose their intelligence 

then they loose too much and risk too much 

they loose civilization, industry, living standards 

and most likely they decrease in numbers long term 

and probably go extinct
