to determine if students have learnt anything or not
but if students do assignments instead of tests
then both the teachers and students will see

and it will be easy for both teachers and the education system
to monitor the progress of the students
by logging how many assignments each student has completed
if the log shows that some students do fewer assignments
or that some students fail in their assignments
then those students need more help from teachers

increases positive stress for the students

and makes that progress visible to other gamers online
it's not a problem that teachers have more power than students
and it's not a problem
that teachers decide which students have succeeded or failed
instead the problem is that tests are inefficeint tools
that are used by teachers and the education system
students feel negative stress from doing tests
which kills motivation to study
and students feel positive me stress from doing assignments
which increases motivation to study
it doesn't matter how much the education system improve
if the core problem remain
