onion sauce

onions are much cheaper than tomatoes and crushed tomatoes 

chop a few onions into small pieces 
fry chopped onions in rapeseed oil and water 
until water evaporated 
and onions have reduced in size significantly 
and onions have become soft and got brownish color 
add lots of oil to avoid burning 
if it takes too long, then add more water 
put fried onions in a bowl 

put rapeseed oil in frying pan or saucepan 
put one or two spoons of flour in and stir it together with oil 
so that it becomes a paste 
stir for a very short while 
then pour in water and stir until the paste dissolves in water 
and becomes a thick sauce base 

put in fried onions into sauce base 
mix it all together with some salt and spices 
taste and if necessary add more salt or spices 
boil sauce until it becomes thick 
serve together with some food
