functions vs thoughts

a mosquito has a very small brain 
but that small brain is packed with functions 
to enable it to reach it's goals 
to find host and feed on host 
a mosquito is not creative 
but it's effective at it's task 
and because a mosquito is not creative 
it's easy to lure it to kill it 
but it's difficult to lure a mosquito in a swarm of mosquitos 
because that swarm of mosquitoes uses collective intelligence 
to anticipate their host's movement 

the human brain is large and full of functions 
but the cerebral cortex is only a few millimeters thin layer at the surface of the brain 
were conscious thought is supposed to happen 

small mice with small brains can do a lot of what humans can do 
a humanoid robot with a processor 
that had the intelligence of a mouse brain 
would probably be a better worker than most humans
