solar cells that absorbs photons and sends photons directly into fiber optic cables for energy transfer 

so that segments of energy grid transfers energy as photons instead of electrons 

and when photons arrive to energy consumer, 

then photons are converted to electrons, 

so that energy consumer can use energy as electricity 

my point is not to replace all electricity infrastructure, 

but to use photon infrastructure where viable 

photon infrastructure connected to large scale solar farms 

if possible use photon infrastructure in long range energy cables where some energy is lost if transferred as electricity, 

viable if photon energy transfer loose less energy compared to electric wire 

solar panels with prisms collecting photons instead of photovoltaic effect, 

if more energy could be absorbed by solar cells that don't convert photons to electricity 

solar panels with prisms as a surface collecting photons already exists 

transferring photons though fiber optic cables already exists and is called: power over fiber
