what makes a country in middle east succesful? 

those countries that are allied with usa: israel and saudi arabia 

iraq will probably get the japan treatment: 

first bombed, then rebuilt, then accelerated economically 

in asia japan and south korea are allied with usa and both are succesful 

according to media china is an enemy of usa, but china has deep trade, business and technology relations with usa 

so if iran could become the china of the middle east, 

enemy to usa, but trade with usa, 

then iran could move up one level in the game
