as old as sin

if a farm has an infestation of rodents
that eat many of the crops
then the farmer tries to kill as many rodents as possible
so if the farmer kills 90% of the rodents
and then the farmer relaxes
and thinks that most rodents are dead and will never recover
but then the remaining 10 % of rodents will reproduce
and become a population as large or larger than the previous population
and those rodents will have evolved to camouflage better
to avoid being killed
if failure to kill rodents continue for too many generations
then the crops could go extinct

if a farm has an infestation of parasties
that feed on livestocks
then the farmer tries to kill as many parasites as possible
so if the farmer kills 90% of the parasites
and then the farmer relaxes
and thinks that most rodents are dead and will never recover
but then the remaining 10 % of parasites will reproduce
and become a population as large or larger than the previous population
and those parasires will have evolved to camouflage better
to avoid being killed
if failure to kill parasites continue for too many generations
then the livestock could go extinct

if a civilization has an infestation of unrighteous
that abuse others
to weaken others
in order to strengthen themselves
then the civilization tries to lure out
and murder as many unrighteous as possible
so if the civilization murders 90% of the unrighteous
and then the civilization relaxes
and thinks that most unrighteous are dead and will never recover
but then the remaining 10 % of unrighteous will reproduce
and become a population as large or larger than the previous population
and those unrighteous will have evolved to camouflage better
to avoid being killed
if failure to murder unrighteous continue for too many generations
then the population of the civilization could go extinct
