warfare from a nato perspective
nato could buy weapon systems from defence companies
that are semi autonomous
so that it's easy for new personnel
to learn how to control those weapon systems
ground vehicles that can be driven by driver
but also told by driver to drive to a location
those ai technologies are already available in the civilian car industry
large, long distance remote controlled flying drones
that can take off, land and fly themselves
but ordered remotely by pilots to execute mission
are already available in the military industry
those types of semi autonomous, easy to learn
and easy to control weapon systems
would enable nato to quickly train nato personnel
and it would also enable private companies
to quickly teach personnel from countries outside nato
to control those weapon systems
that would enable countries outside nato
to quickly acquire and control those weapon systems
nato could use stealth fighter aircraft and stealth bomber aircraft
to take control of an area
then nato could use non stealth aircraft to dominate that area
then nato could use satellites and surveillance drone aircraft
to see almost everything in an area
and then nato could use non stealth aircraft such as:
use ac130 gunships armed with artillery cannons and lots of ammunition
reaper drones armed with hellfire missiles
b52 bombers armed with massive amounts of conventional bombs
and possibly ah64 apache attack helicopters armed with hellfire missiles
to destroy all ground targets in an area
and thereby dominating that area
when nato aircraft dominates an area
then ground vehicles such as:
tanks
various combat vehicles
self loading, quick to deploy, quick to leave artillery vehicles
quick to deploy, quick to leave missile vehicles
could move in and destroy what's left of the enemy
these strategies and weapon systems
would create a wall of destruction that no enemies could penetrate
and these strategies and weapon systems
could be used by countries outside of nato
to protect themselves and friendly countries
the usa and nato model of attacking an enemy country
to destroy the enemy and then leaving the enemy country
instead of conquering it
has proven to be a succesfull strategy in the last few decades
and the nato model of voluntary military membership
has proven to be more efficient than conquering countries
and in the same way
the eu model of voluntary political and economic membership
has proven to be more efficient than conquering countries
in the first and second gulf war american weapons systems
proved to be highly effective against russian weapon systems
the first gulf war showed
that if usa wanted to win a war quickly then it could do so
and the second gulf war showed that if there was less political support
then usa would take a long time to destroy the enemy
and then withdraw from that war
similarly world war 2 showed
that if usa wanted to win a war quickly then it could do so
and the vietnam war showed that if there was less political support
then usa would take a long time to destroy the enemy
and then withdraw from that war
there are obvious reasons to win a war quickly
but there are various reasons to win a war slowly
winning a war slowly could force outcome in a region
