one side of satellite's solar panel array functioning as radio antenna and other side functioning as solar cell

if communications satellites' solar panel arrays would function as radio antennas on the side facing earth and function as solar cells on the side facing space, 

then communications satellites would get larger square meter area of antenna and thereby more powerful connections to mobile phones, 

possibly communications satellites would need batteries if solar cells sometimes don't get enough sunshine
