even if those people were from countries that were enemies against each other,

people following the same leader brought stability,
different peoples following the same leader brought even more stability,
but since the life span was only a few decades,
that meant that the leader only lead for a few decades,
hence it was not a stable system long term,
but if life span increases,
then a leader could lead for a very long time
and that could bring stability long term
