first wave is exotic technology probes controlled by androids 

second wave is primitive technology probes controlled by humans 

when humans have sufficient exotic technology cybernetic upgrades, 

then when humans are asleep or in meditative state, 

then humans will possibly be able for short moments to see what exotic technology probes are seeing
