when batteries becomes more efficient than fuel in volume and weight, then autonomous electric aircraft will make forward bases in allied countries and other countries unnecessary 
and it will make large parts of the navy unnecessary 

why move ammunition and fuel to a forward base in a country and then reload and refuel aircraft on base, 
when all that can be done at home base and the logistics of forward base can be eliminated completely 

navy has to be reloaded and refueled at forward base or by freight aircraft 
all that logistics can be eliminated if navy is replaced by autonomous electric aircraft that reloads and recharges at home base 

eliminating logistics sounds insignificant, but logistics is not just weapons and fuel, it's personel and their food, water, energy, living quarters, transport and the base itself, lots of logistics 

all airforce aircraft and navy vessel logistics bases in allied countries and other countries will become unnecessary
