pulling electrons out of molecules/atoms to turn them into ions and affect flow of ions

if a craft pulls electrons out of the air around it, 

won't that turn air molecules/atoms into ions 

and affect flow of ions around the craft

and affect airflow direction around the craft 

or water instead of air if craft in water
