get air dominance, use air power to destroy enemy, use ground forces to do whatever
in first usa iraq war usa had air dominance and used air power to destroy the iraqi military and used ground forces to do whatever
in second iraq war usa had air dominance and used air power to destroy what was left of iraqi resistance and used ground forces to do whatever
basically get air dominance and use air power to destroy enemy and possibly use ground forces to do whatever
in this light it seems bizarre that russia skips getting air dominance and using air power to destroy it's enemy in ukraine while sending in it's ground forces
instead russia sends in ground forces seemingly without air dominance into ukraine
that russia does not use air power to destroy it's enemy in ukraine could partly be because russia prefers to use artillery and missiles because of the short geographical distance between russia and ukraine
