when vikings travelled the rivers of russia, they probably soon realised it was more effective to trade with russian villages than to plunder them
maybe vikings traded with one village and plundered an enemy village after some understanding in their trade arrangement
with trade comes man meets girl, love and sex, stronger relations between vikings and russian village
maybe russian girl gives birth to a son and viking man travels away
maybe next time viking man comes back to trade, his son is in control of village and village is hostile towards vikings, will father and son be enemies?
